I started skeleton a bit later than most.
I saw it in person at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City from corner 14. It's funny actually, another (soon to become a good friends as well as competitors from 2003 to present day) slider from Canada and I were standing within talking distance from each other rooting for our respective nations.
There at the Games as a massage therapist I met Michael Voudoris (skeleton) of Greece, Anne Abernathy (luge) and Troy Billington (skeleton) of the Virgin Islands, and Tristan Gale (skeleton) who I just witness become a gold medalist. They encouraged me to try the sport out. [It's fate, that I actually have a photo with Tristan, but directly behind me is soon to be fellow slider, Eddy Tames of Mexico who I met 2 years later.
